North East ISD votes unanimously for a 175-day calendar

The North East ISD board has approved a 175-day school year for the 2026–27 academic year, following a new state rule that keeps required instructional minutes without mandating 180 days. District leaders say the change won’t impact summer school or funding and actually offers more flexibility for planning. The new school year will run from Aug. 17, 2026, to May 27, 2027.

New Store Openings

Here is some Neighborhood area update on new store openings.

Stone Oak just got sweeter! La Panadería Bakery Café has officially opened its largest San Antonio location on N. This new space — with plenty of parking and a festive vibe — held a grand opening celebration on Dec. 17 and even introduced a new mascot, “Don Lino.” It’s a great place to meet neighbors for coffee or brunch this weekend.
